Privacy policy
Effective 2 July 2026
The short version: Onyx collects no data about you. None. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of ours that anything could be sent to.
What the app stores, and where
Your block list, your always-allowed list, your schedules, and your settings are stored only on your iPhone, in Onyx's own private storage. They never leave your device. If you delete Onyx, that data is deleted with it.
Screen Time
Onyx blocks apps through Apple's Screen Time system. When you pick apps to block, iOS hands Onyx anonymous references that only work on your device. Onyx cannot see which apps they are, how often you use them, or anything else about your phone. All blocking runs on-device, handled by iOS itself.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. Onyx never sees your name, email, or payment details, only an anonymous confirmation from Apple that Pro is unlocked.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Onyx schedules them locally on your device (for example "Block finished"). They are never sent through a server.
This website
onyxfocus.app uses no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking scripts, and makes no requests to third parties. The hosting provider keeps standard technical server logs (such as IP address and requested page) to operate the service; we don't use them to identify anyone.
Changes
If any of this ever changes, this page will say so before the change takes effect, with a new effective date.
